Classic French Croissants
These flaky, buttery croissants are a staple of French bakeries and perfect for breakfast or a snack. With their golden layers and delightful texture, you'll feel like you're enjoying a piece of Paris at home.
Ingredients
- - 500g all-purpose flour
- - 10g salt
- - 40g sugar
- - 10g instant yeast
- - 300ml whole milk, lukewarm
- - 250g unsalted butter, cold
- - 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- 1In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Make sure the yeast does not come into direct contact with the salt at this stage.
- 2Gradually add the lukewarm milk and mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
